Membership in SIIM is open to anyone with an interest in the vital and growing field of electronic medical imaging and information systems. SIIM facilitates the growth and exchange of knowledge by and through: face-to-face interactions; an active scholarly and educational publication program; conferences and online education; consultation through the Expert Hotline; formation and support of user groups; and establishment of worldwide liaisons with appropriate computer and radiologic societies. SIIM's educational resources and expertise assist health information professionals in addressing the clinical applications and implementation of PACS, direct digital radiology, speech recognition, and emerging applications. SIIM membership now exceeds 2,200 individual, 80 institutional, and 40 corporate members.

SIIM offers individual, institutional, and corporate memberships. All membership categories contain a number of core benefits and services, including a complimentary subscription to the Journal of Digital Imaging and SIIM News, discounts on SIIM publications, reduced registration fees for the SIIM Annual Meeting, and unlimited consultative access to the SIIM Expert Hotline.

REGULAR membership is available to individuals in North America interested in the vital and growing field of medical imaging informatics.

INTERNATIONAL membership is available to individuals outside of North America.

STUDENT membership is available for full-time students with an area of study and interest in imaging informatics. Student benefits and membership apply to full-time undergraduate and graduate students, medical students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows. A verification letter from the student's program director is required.

EMERITUS membership is available to SIIM members who have retired and are no longer employed full time in the field.

INSTITUTIONAL members are healthcare facilities that have members, departments, faculty or staff with an interest in imaging informatics and include a minimum of 4 sponsored individual memberships. Each sponsored member enjoys the full benefits of individual membership.

CORPORATE members are for-profit organizations that support the mission of SIIM and include 10 sponsored individual memberships for employees or customers. Each sponsored member enjoys the full benefits of individual membership.

SIIM works with its corporate and institutional members to establish partnerships customized to the needs of both the vendors and providers to share the risks in adopting new technological innovation, programs, and services in the fast-changing healthcare environment.
