Highlights from SIIM 2008 Imaging Informatics Professional Symposium

Nearly 200 Imaging Informatics Professionals (IIPs) gathered in Seattle for an early start to the SIIM 2008 Annual Meeting. The annual, one-day IIP Symposium – now in its sixth year – offered a great opportunity to learn and prepare for the CIIP exam. At the conclusion of the symposium, presenters had a panel discussion, which included a sample test question review. The 2008 Symposium was prepared around the 10 domains of the ABII certification test content outline and designed to address the range of competencies and skills required of IIPs.

Now Available! 2008 Imaging Informatics Professional (IIP) Symposium Web Seminar

An introductory course of study (based on the ABII IIP exam test content outline ) that will get you started on meeting your professional goals to be an effective and competent imaging informatics professional (PACS administrator). 2008 Imaging Informatics Professional Symposium Course Syllabus

The new 2008 Syllabus is an excellent resource for Imaging Informatics Professionals, both those who are new to the profession and those preparing for certification. This 192-page text includes the presentations from the Symposium at the SIIM 2008 Annual Meeting in Seattle, WA. It also includes a series of sample test questions based upon the course content, and extensive list of references and online resources, and the detailed learning objectives based on the ABII Test Content Outline and developed by the SIIM Education Advisory Network. The 2008 Symposium covered the following topics: Procurement and Project Management; Communication and Training; Clinical Engineering and Medical Informatics; PACS Operations; Information Technology; Systems Management; and Image Management.

2007 Imaging Informatics Professional Pre-Conference Symposium Course Syllabus

This 160-page text is a valuable resource for those new to the imaging informatics profession and for those preparing for certification. The syllabus is comprised of presentations from the pre-conference course at the SIIM 2007 Annual Meeting in Providence, RI. It also includes an extensive list of reading and reference materials, as well as online resources. The 2007 IIP course was tailored to the Imaging Informatics Professional (IIP) Certification Test Content Outline; presentations covered the following topics: Introduction to the Imaging Information Professional; Procurement and Project Management; PACS Operations; Communications and Training; Image Management; Information Technology and Systems Management; and Medical Informatics and Clinical Engineering.
